Climate Action Planning Team Establish Preliminary CAP Goals

The City of La Crosse’s fifty-member Climate Action Plan (CAP) Team have convened in initial planning workshops that have reviewed climate change trends, projections and vulnerabilities as well as the city’s GHG emissions. Based on careful review of the data, the team has established preliminary Climate Action Plan goals organized into nine “sectors”.

The sectors include:

  • Transportation and Mobility

  • Land Use and Housing

  • Buildings and Energy

  • Waste Management

  • Water and Wastewater

  • Local Food and Agriculture

  • Greenspace, Trees and Ecosystems

  • Health and Safety

  • Economy

About the Climate Action Planning Team
The fifty-member Climate Action Plan (CAP) Team is laying the groundwork for how the City and its residents will tackle climate change by reducing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This diverse group includes City staff, representatives from major institutions, and community members. They will be meeting through a series of in-depth collaborative workshop sessions through July.
